The Dwarf Pink Leg (Kochiana brunnipes) is a tiny Brazilian dwarf — a small, fast, moisture-loving species with delicate pinkish leg tones, formerly lumped in other genera and now standing on its own. It's a quick, webbing dwarf that stays under 2.5", making it ideal for small setups, though its speed and size push it a notch toward intermediate. Uncommon and charming, with the big-personality-in-a-small-body appeal of the best dwarfs.

- HumidityDamp, around 75–80%, with a water dish and airflow. A small tropical species that must not dry out — keep the substrate lightly moist and ventilate against stagnant air. Overflow rather than mist.
- Adult sizeA true dwarf: adults reach 2–2.5 inches across the legs (diagonal leg span). A relatively fast grower — expect visible progress between molts when well fed.
- LifespanFemales roughly 6–8 years; mature males 2–3 years. Short-lived, as dwarfs are.
Enclosure
A small footprint with a few inches of substrate for burrowing and anchor points for webbing — a nano or large acrylic cube. Escape-proof ventilation is essential; small, fast spiders exploit any gap. A cork hide and water dish.
Substrate & water
2–3 inches of lightly damp coco/topsoil, kept moist (not wet) with a water dish. It burrows and webs. Ventilate to prevent mold in the damp sub.
Feeding
A quick, willing little eater. Small prey — flightless fruit flies/pinheads for slings, small crickets/dubia for adults; juveniles twice weekly, adults weekly. Remove uneaten prey promptly.
Temperament & defenses
Intermediate-leaning for a dwarf: fast and quick to bolt, though not defensive; mild venom. Its speed and small size make maintenance the main challenge. Not a handling animal — observe and enjoy. Watch closely when the enclosure is open.
