Brazilian BlackNew World terrestrial. Famously docile display species; slow grower with a slow metabolism, so space feedings and expect long premolt fasts. Very hardy, very long-lived. Keep it dry like the other Grammostola — a water dish, one lightly damp corner, and an overflow every week or two is plenty (the Tarantula Keeper's Guide keeps it "as an arid species"). Note on the name: nearly every "Brazilian Black" in the hobby traces to Uruguayan stock and is properly Grammostola quirogai (described 2016), not G. pulchra — the two are separable only by a mature male's tibial hooks or DNA. Care is identical either way; we label ours honestly.
